A Book List and Review Especially for Two Year Olds

Finding the a book to read to a group of 16 two year olds is not an easy thing to do.Many books are too long, too boring, or are just not right to keep an active two year old attentive. When I first started teaching preschool circle/story time was the worst part but now it is one of the best parts of teaching.  I have been researching this for he past 5 years and reading books to young children for the past 20 years. I would like to share my list of books with other preschool teachers and mothers of young children.

Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You Here?
By Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle

This book is a must , must , must for every home and every preschool. This book will inspire a love for books for your child. This book has got to be one of the most popular children's pictures books ever and for good reason. Colorful simple pictures of characters children can recognize, repetition and a pattern in the words with a beat to it, children are simply mesmerized by this book. It is available in many forms, board book, big book, and you can even get it to music on Greg and Steve's Playing the Favorites CD.
